Things to Know about Installing Synthetic Grass

Posted on January 1, 2020January 8, 2020 by admin

Synthetic grass, commonly known as artificial turf is a fiber with the texture of normal grass that is used in grounds and stadiums. Since it gives both the feel and firmness of grass and does not require regular maintenance like that of normal grass, it is presently being used by people to decorate their gardens and lawns. Since it is not much expensive and have a high utility, it has become a trend among people to grab a contractor and to transform their lawns into a lush green land. Some of the basic steps involved in adding an artificial turf in a piece of land are as follows.

Clearing the Area

The first and the foremost step involved in the installation of artificial turf is clearing all the grass and weeds of that area. To create a better and long lasting synthetic lawn, the contractors also clear out a layer of soil from the required area using appropriate machinery. This process is to create a flat surface to spread the synthetic grass.

Creating the Base

After removing all the grass, weeds and mud from the surface, the contractors will create a foundation for the artificial turf. The foundation is mostly created using road vase to restrict the growth of plants from beneath the turf. This will also help in creating a better leveled and smooth surface to spread the artificial grass.

Laying the Grass

The synthetic turf that is available in the market is mostly like a roll of cloth material. This makes it easy to install in any area. After the area is prepared, the contractors will spread the grass across the lawn and will enable it to rest in that area for a specific time for the same to affix automatically to the land. After the grass is fixed, the workers will cut off the sheet which is overlapping over areas and edges in which it is not planned. After the trimming process, the grass will be perfectly affixed on the ground.

Maintaining the lawn

The final process of creating an artificial lawn is maintaining the same. Since the synthetic grass will not grow like normal grass, maintenance doesn’t involve cutting the lawn. Maintaining the synthetic grass involves regularly checking for any cracks on the sheet and also checking the edges to control weed growth.

Artificial grass is one of the most popular and effective methods to beautify a lawn. It will enable an expert to convert a normal place into a spot of aesthetic beauty. Since it has the same texture like that of normal grass, walking on it will feel like walking on grass.
